The 专业卡车驾驶/ CDL course are offered in partnership with a third-party vendor R&B职业培训. To qualify for a CDL, 学生s must register in both Professional Truck Driving 一级和专业卡车驾驶二级.  CDL I prepares the 学生 for mastery of the Commercial Drivers License written examination and permit. CDL II是一个延续 of CDL I and provides general truck driving skills with hands-on component and instruction coordinated with the Department of Transportation.

科林大学 Continuing Education offers morning and evening / weekend Professional Truck Driving (CDL) 课程. Professional 卡车驾驶I和II is a singular course. 学生必须 enroll in both parts, CDL Part I and CDL Part II before starting the course.

CDL培训的六个步骤

  1. 专业卡车驾驶/ CDL 课程

    上午上课 Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm for a total of four (4) weeks at both 德克萨斯州的法默斯维尔和德克萨斯州的格林维尔.*

    •200 hours of training in Professional 卡车驾驶I和II to earn a CDL license. 

     

    •Interested 学生s, must be at least 18 years of age, have an acceptable driving record, complete, and pass DOT physical exam, and have the ability to read, write, 会说英语.


    •必须满足 DPS of Texas permit and CDL license eligibility requirements


    •Federal Regulations require that 学生s can respond to and  comprehend official commands/inquiries and make entries on reports.


    •Must have a valid Class C license and an acceptable driving record.


    •Tuition assistance available for eligible applicants: 行政长官助学金


    •The average salary in the DFW area is $48,200 annually (source:O*NET OnLine).


    *Subject to factors including passing the pre-trip, inclement weather, etc.

  3. 注册步骤

    Interested applicants must apply as a new 科林大学 Continuing Education (CE) 学生.

     

    步骤1: If this is your first time as as 科林大学 学生, please complete an 入学申请.

     

    步骤2:  Within 2 business days you will receive an email with your 科林大学 ID (CWID) 和密码. The CWID is necessary when registering for the course and/or applying 申请经济援助.

  4. Tuition

    A payment of $4,600 must be paid in full at the time of registration for both Professional 卡车驾驶I和II.  Failure to pay or make full payment will result in being dropped from course the next business day.

     

    *The Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam, permit, and license are not 包含在Tuition中.

The 200 hour 专业卡车驾驶/ CDL 课程 are divided up in 2 parts, CDL Part I and Part II for a total of 4 weeks of classes. 第一周的课程会 be in classroom followed by hands on driving instruction at the truck yard.

The professional truck driving course is an open enrollment course and 学生s do 无需预先批准即可注册.

Is there job placement after I complete the program?


We do not provide job placement after completion of the program but our Career Center is open to all 学生s to assist in resume writing and job search.

Are any endorsements included with the training?


We are an approved provider of the Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) and the required 培训包括在第一部分. Also, two additional endorsements are included with our training: endorsement T which authorizes towing two (double) or three (triple) trailers over a specified weight (CDL only) and endorsement N which authorizes the 坦克车辆的操作.
